You should have seven full loops after you've cut the 12" piece, each length of firm is exactly one foot as there are seven full loops in the span. Soft - Fifteen full loops equals two feet, so if you need to cut 24" lengths, count 15 full loops and cut it off on either side of loop #1 and loop #15. You should have 15 full loops after you've cut the 24" piece, each length of firm is exactly one foot as there are seven full loops in the span. The concept will be the same for soft.
